 Annual Fest Priyadarshini focused on "Eco-Friendly Soch, Sabka Approach" held at Dyal Singh College

                            


New Delhi, 6th March 2025: The grand annual fest, Priyadarshini, was organized by "Vyom: Arts and Culture Committee" at Dyal Singh College. This year, the theme of the event was "Eco-Friendly Soch, Sabka Approach," aimed at inspiring everyone towards environmental conservation and sustainable development. Members of various cultural committees of the college enthusiastically participated and showcased their talent and culture.

                   


The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the distinguished guests: Prof. Radheshyam Sharma, Joint Director of the Delhi School of Climate Change and Sustainability, University of Delhi; Mr. Kamaljit Singh, Deputy Inspector General of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change; Mr. Jitesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change; and the principal of Dyal Singh College, Prof. Vinod Kumar Paliwal. Following the inauguration, a glimpse of Indian culture was presented along with various performances. A special highlight of the opening ceremony was the traditional dance performance by students from the northeastern states, showcasing cultural diversity in traditional attire.

            


On this occasion, Prof. Paliwal addressed the students, emphasizing the need for everyone to contribute to environmental protection. He urged all citizens to support the various dimensions of sustainable development. In conclusion, the principal extended his best wishes to all students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and the entire Dyal Singh College family for the successful organization of the fest.

        


On the 5th and 6th of March, several art and culture competitions were held by the different committees of Dyal Singh College. Under Vyom: Arts and Culture Committee, Spilled Ink hosted literary events such as creative writing and poetry competitions, a mushaira, and a book discussion. Roots organized competitions and programs related to classical music. Resonance showcased impressive performances in western music. Jamini held artistic competitions such as costume painting and anime painting. Astitva provided a platform for street theatre through the event "Natsamrat," along with an art exhibition. Jest presented western dance performances. Exposure captured the essence of Priyadarshini 2025 through photographs and held film-making programs. Rudra, preserving classical dance traditions, hosted several performances, as they do every year. Glamourarti made a significant contribution to the success of the fest through fashion and modeling events. These competitions and programs saw enthusiastic participation from students of Delhi University, delivering mesmerizing performances. This year's Priyadarshini 2025 also conveyed social and environmental messages through various artistic presentations.

                   


Present at the event were Prof. Navneet Manav, Vyom: Arts and Culture Coordinator, Dr. Alka Sharma, Dr. Vijay Kumar Verma, Mr. Madhurendra Singh, Dr. Moumita Sarkar, Dr. Simran Chadha, Dr. Uma Sharma, Dr. Kedar Kumar Mandal, and many others.

           


A large number of students and faculty members participated and enjoyed the annual fest with great enthusiasm.
