*Flag hoisting ceremony in a patriotic atmosphere on the occasion of Independence Day at MHADA headquarters*
Release of MHADA's 'Parisar Parichay' Independence Day special issue; The ceremony was celebrated with enthusiasm with patriotic songs by officers and employees and their children
Mumbai, (Anil Vishnupant Sable) Date. August 15, 2026: India's 80th Independence Day was celebrated in an enthusiastic and patriotic atmosphere at the headquarters of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) in Bandra East today. On this occasion, the national flag was hoisted by the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of 'MHADA', Shri. Sanjeev Jaiswal.
After the flag hoisting, the police team of Kherwadi Police Station, the Maharashtra Security Force team and the security guards of MHADA saluted the national flag. After that, the attendees collectively sang the national anthem and the Maharashtra State Anthem. Senior officers and employees of various boards of MHADA were present in large numbers at this function.
On the occasion of Independence Day, various cultural programs were organized in the premises of MHADA headquarters. MHADA officers and employees participated enthusiastically and presented patriotic songs. Notably, the children of MHADA officers and employees also participated enthusiastically in this cultural program and presented their talents. Through patriotic songs, the sacrifice and contribution of the freedom fighters in India's freedom struggle were remembered. Also, the message of patriotism, national integration, social commitment and commitment towards nation building was given.
Another feature of this function was the release of the Independence Day special issue of MHADA's mouthpiece 'Parisar Parichay'. This special issue was released by the Vice President and CEO of 'MHADA', Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal. This special issue focuses on various topics related to the housing sector, including MHADA's developmental, people-oriented and citizen-centric initiatives.
Addressing the audience, Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board Chief Officer Mr. Milind Shambharkar extended Independence Day greetings to all the officers and employees and their families.
The function was graced by Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board Chief Officer Mr. Milind Shambharkar, Maharashtra Slum Tribunal Chairman Mr. Bhagwan Chikne, MHADA Chief Engineer Mr. Dheerajkumar Pandirkar, Chief Engineer Mr. Anil Ankalgi, Secretary Mr. Prafulla Thakur, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Anil Wankhade, Mumbai Slum Improvement Board Chief Officer Mr. Satish Bharatiya, Konkan Housing and Area Development Board Chief Officer Mr. Vishal Rathod, Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board Joint Chief Officer Mr. Umesh Wagh, Deputy Chief Engineer Mr. Kishore Katwate and Mr. Bhushan Desai, Chief Public Relations Officer Smt. Vaishali Gadpale, Vigilance and Security Officer Mr. Mahesh Chavan and other officers and employees of MHADA were present in large numbers.
The Independence Day ceremony was concluded with enthusiasm in an atmosphere of patriotism, unity and a new resolve towards public service.
