Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for DU's Institution of Eminence hostel cum residential block held in Dhaka

                         

  Building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 332.83 crore, will provide accommodation for 1,436 students: Prof. Yogesh Singh

New Delhi, September 29.

The Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for the hostel cum residential block, Institution of Eminence, University of Delhi, was held on Monday at the Dhaka complex. On this occasion Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh was the chief guest, while K.P. Mahadevaswamy CMD- NBCC was present as the guest of honour. Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh said that the construction of this state-of-the-art building will provide modern residential facilities to DU students.

                         


Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh said that the project, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 332.83 crore, will provide


accommodation for 1,436 students. The Vice Chancellor said that the plot size is 29,445 square meters. The building will have a total height of 35 meters, consisting of nine floors (G+9) in addition to the ground floor. He added that the boys' hostel to be constructed under this project will have 58 single residences, 220 triple residences, and 38 married/ En-suite Accommodation. The girls' hostel will also have a similar number of residences. Thus, each block will accommodate 718 students.

                              


On the occasion of Bhoomi Poojan, Prof. Balram Pani, Dean of Colleges, Prof. Rajni Abbi, Director, South Campus, Dr. Vikas Gupta Registrar, Anoop Lather Chairperson Cultural Council, Chief Engineer Ashok Saini, along with officials from NBCC (a Navratna CPSE), Sam India Builtwell Private Limited, and Officers form DU were also present.
