University of Delhi Climbs in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025
DU's 2 narrow subjects included in top 100, all 25 narrow subjects got place between 100 to 500: VC Prof. Yogesh Singh
New Delhi, March 13.
The University of Delhi has demonstrated remarkable progress in the QS World University Rankings by Subject for 2025, being ranked in 25 narrow subjects and 4 broad subjects. Giving information in this regard, DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh said that this time DU has got ranking in 25 narrow subjects and 4 broad subjects. He said that this year, the university has made significant strides in elevating its global standing across multiple disciplines.
Giving detailed information, the Vice Chancellor said that the performance of DU has been quite impressive this time. DU's 2 narrow subjects, Anthropology and Development Studies, have been in the top 100. Apart from these, 10 subjects were included in the top 200, 22 subjects in the top 300, 24 subjects in the top 400 and all 25 subjects in the top 500.
Prof. Yogesh Singh said that these rankings reflect the University of Delhi's commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to providing a world-class education. For this, he congratulated all the people associated with DU and said that DU is serious about making further qualitative improvement in its ranking in the coming time.
Noteworthy improvements in broad subject rankings include:
Arts & Humanities: Improved by 50 positions, rising from 210 to 160
Life Sciences & Medicine: Up by 17 positions, from 379 to 362
Natural Sciences: Gained 70 positions, moving from 345 to 275
Social Sciences & Management: Increased by 41 positions, from 178 to 137
In the narrow subjects, the University of Delhi has also achieved remarkable advancements:
History: Climbed from 151-200 to 101-150
Accounting & Finance: Rose from 251-300 to 201-250
Economics & Econometrics: Moved from 151-200 to 156
Chemistry: Improved from 301-350 to 251-300
Environmental Sciences: Jumped from 301-350 to 251-300
Mathematics: Advanced from 251-300 to 201-250
Additionally, the University of Delhi is proud to announce its first-ever ranking in Education (401-450).
